Day cruises and FerriesRegulations made under the Disability Discrimination Act 2005 do not remove the current exemption from a requirement to have full access from shipping and smaller inland waterway craft, although shipping, boating and ferry operators still have a duty to avoid discrimination against disabled people and to make reasonable adjustments for them in respect of matters such as timetables, booking facilities and waiting rooms at airports and ferry terminals. There are day cruises and ferries operating on the Severn Estuary and the River Avon, some of which have access for disabled people, but you should ring the operators in advance to check whether the trip is suitable.
