We provide a range of facilities and activities for residents and visitors to North Somerset. Our 14 town and village libraries attract almost a million visitors a year.
Our North Somerset Museum has exhibitions and events which tell the story of the district and make learning fun. You can get fit and healthy by taking up a new sport or activity at one of our 10 leisure centres. Venues such as the Playhouse Theatre and Winter Gardens provide a year-round variety of entertainment and events.
During the summer months we host a free programme of sports and entertainment in the district's parks and open spaces. Some five million day trippers and holidaymakers visit North Somerset boosting the local economy by over £200m every year.
The Winter Gardens is a conference and entertainment centre capable of catering for more than 1000 people a day. The beachside venue in Weston-super-Mare hosts around 1350 annual functions from meetings for five people up to banquets for 500 in The Pavilion Ballroom.
Its Prince Consort Hall can cater for up to 600 delegates and the Grove Suite can host up to 120 people at a time.
The whole venue offers full disabled access and services including wheelchair access and an infra-red hearing system.
Across the year it plays host to a range of exhibitions, craft fairs and tea dances and is also used as an entertainment venue.

The Playhouse Theatre
The Playhouse Theatre is a 664-seat venue offering a year-round programme of entertainment for North Somerset. The Weston-super-Mare venue puts on around 300 professional and amateur shows a year from music, drama and children's shows to comedy, ballet and opera.
It has full disabled access and services including wheelchair access to the auditorium, an infra-red hearing system and audio described and signed performances for certain shows.
The box office is open Monday to Saturday from 10:00 until 17:00 to 20:00 on performance days - and two hours before the start of any Sunday performances.

Sports Centres
The SISNS scheme is open to international level sportspeople and provides free access to training facilities in North Somerset.
Swiss Valley sports centre is located in the grounds of Clevedon School in North Somerset. Disabled access to sports hall, and all outside facilities, no separate inside changing room or toilet, but does have separate changing toilet facilities outside in pavilion, as this building is up a slight slope not very convenient when playing in sports hall and wish to use the toilet.
